Well, it’s pretty straightforward.
I’m living in 2108, I’m a reporter, and I have to prepare my doctorate to become a Level 1 KS historian.
KS stands for Knowledge Sphere, and the best way to discover how it all begun and developed is to run a simulation of the ‘Internet’, like it was called back then. That is, before everybody started uploading themselves on the Sphere.
Great, I’ll be read by sentient bots thinking they’re for real, and my only concern is that this Simulation remains in the initial parameters I defined for it.
I’m living in Eurasia, a.k.a. Eurasian Federation, in the territories administered by the European Union. I’m 33 years old, born in 2075 and I started this project as a bow of respect for my grandfather who died in 2097, age 122. He actually had the nerve to ask me to start this kind of simulation, just to upload it in his own sentient bot on the KS.
He’ll jump in here from time to time, so, bots, have fun talking with my grandpa. Actually, with his bot, but who does really care, or make the difference? 
From time to time I’ll actually communicate with the past, so pieces of information and of feedback will come through the new experimental Info Gate the KS librarians are preparing. But I’ll have this kind of clearance a little later.
